AUGUSTA - Ida Mary (Bertrand) Dutil, 94, passed away on July 9, 2015, in Augusta. She was born on Aug. 5, 1920, in Jackman, the daughter of Napoleon "Paul" and Ellena (Hammond) Bertrand. She was educated at Sacred Heart Academy in Jackman.

She married Laurent L. Dutil at St. Augustine Church on Feb. 25, 1946, in Augusta.

Ida was employed for 40 years at Bates Manufacturing Co. and Edwards Manufacturing Co. in Augusta. She was secretary of the Cushnoc Senior Citizens Club for five years, president of the Happy Family Senior Club for 12 years, and a past member of the St. Andrews Senior Club.

She was predeceased by her husband, Laurent L. Dutil in 1984; also her parents; and four brothers, Asa, Austin, Dollard Daigle and Louis Bertrand and one sister Iris Booker.

Ida is survived by three children, Margaret "Peggy" Genest and husband Michael of Fairfield, Marietta Morin of Augusta and her son, Ronald "Pete" Dutil and fiancé Kathy Benway-Chepren of Corinth; six grandchildren, Michael Genest, Jr. and wife Dawn of Winslow, Vincent Genest of Fairfield, Bruce Genest and wife Trisha of Eliot, Kathy Morin of Augusta, Amanda MacIssac and husband Matthew of Virginia, Jennie Sanderson and husband Euan of Massachusetts; six great-grandchildren, Colby, Jacob, Cole and Everlie Genest, Dylan and Andrew MacIssac; one sister Irene Gagne of Augusta; many nieces, nephews; and special friend of 93 years, Gemma Tanguay of Greenville.

Committal will be at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta. Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine, Belfast. (Central Maine Newspapers 7/15/2015)
