Joseph A. Daigle, 75, 2680 Andrews Ave., Melbourne, died Monday. Born in Brewster, Maine, he moved to Melbourne from Marlboro, Mass., in 1973. He was a retired engineer and an Episcopalian. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Waltham, Mass., Scottish Rite Bodies of Orlando, Scottish Rite Club of Melbourne and the American Association of Retired Persons. Survivors: wife, Mildred; son, William, Bentonville, Va.; daughters, Sharon Duclos, Concord, N.H., Patricia Parks, Holliston, Mass.; five grandchildren. Funeral: 7 p.m. Thurday, Brownlie and Maxwell Funeral Home, Melbourne.

Joe was born May 12, 1911 the third of three children born to Simon Alsim Daigle and Ellena Grace Hammond. His father Simon died July 4th, 1913 in Orringtion, Maine in a drowning accident. Joe was raised by Archie L. and Selena M. Gonyer in Penobscot.

Ellena's parents had died when she was young and in 1900 she was living with the Gonyer's until her marriage to Simon Alsim Daigle June 26, 1904. She married (2) Joseph Napoleon Bertrand November 19, 1917.

Joe Daigle married Phyllis Della Morse May 18, 1935 in Brewer, Maine. They had two daughters, Patricia Jane Daigle and Sharonette Daigle. Phyllis was born 7 March 1924 and died December 1986 in Holliston, MA.

Joe Daigle married (2) Mildred before 1967.

Joe Daigle was a radio repairman in his early years, and retired from Raytheon Service Company in Burlington Massachusetts about 1977. He was an avid Amateur Radio operator and held the call sign W1LRB. He held the call K4JEL after moving to Florida.

Joe Daigle died October 20, 1986 in Melbourne, Florida.
