Barbara Viola Brohman, 79, of the White Ridge Health Center, 1501 S.W. Third St., Lee's Summit, died March 20, 1991, at Lee's Summit Hospital.

She was born in Hays, Kan., and lived in this area most of her life.

Mrs. Brohman was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.

Her husband, Floyd Brohman, died in 1983.

Survivors include five sons, Adam Smelser, Lee's Summit, Jim Smelser and Arthur Smelser of Olathe, Howard Smelser, Blue Springs, and William Brohman, Houston; two daughters, Fran Loring, Sugar Creek, and Nellie Wyckoff, Overland Park; a brother, Al Pfeifer, Columbus, Ga.; two sisters, Maggie Klaus and Ruth Riley of Hays; 22 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m, Friday at Newcomer's Floral Hills Chapel; burial in Floral Hills Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the chapel, where the rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
