Daily Oklahoman:

Gene Coval Calahan, 64, gone fishing with the Lord on 28 Nov 1995. Born 14 Mar 1931, in Wichita Falls, Tx, to William Leon and Geraldine Vogel Calahan.

He married Marjorie Jo McKoy Feb 3, 1951. Gene was a Putnam City graduate. He served his God and country in the Korean War with the First Marine Corps Division and received two Purple Hearts.

He spent his life selling ice boxes to Eskimo's, and bending his elbow, (hunting and fishing that is). Gene lived on the lake at Eufaula.

Survived by his devoted wife of 44 years; 2 cats and 3 dogs; 3 children, Pam, Mike, Tim, and their spouses; mother and mother-in-law; 2 sisters and 1 brother-in-law; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and cousins; many, many friends.

Gene lived, loved and played hard. He will always be with us in spirit and greatly missed.
