She was the daughter of Lemuel C. Bishop Jr. (1756-1832) & Lucretia Wood (1755-1828)*(see:Note) of Vermont. She married Rev. Nathan E. Roberts (1774-1840) on 10 Nov 1799 in Knoxville, Tennessee. They were the parents of approx. 16 children with at least nine living to adulthood. These were: Jeremiah (1801), Mary (1802/5), Elisabeth (1804), Sarah (1805), Cornelius (1807), Nathan (1809), Benjamin (1810), Abigail (1811), Rachel (1812), Matthew (1813), Hannah (1814), Julie (1816), John (1816), William (1818), David (1823) and Joseph (1826). Abigail & Nathan Roberts are buried in Choctaw Co., Mississippi in an unknown location (poss. Grenada).

Lucretia Wood (1755-1780) is disputed. Alt. mother is Lucretia Bradley (1760-1828). Lemuel could have been married twice: 1st Lucretia Wood (1776) & 2nd Lucredtia Bradley (1780). Abigail Bishop also disputed for a Abigale Unknown of Virginia.
