Aletha was born on the old Apperson homeplace, Wilmer, Dallas Co, T. Her family moved to Oklahoma and she completed high school at Madill, Ok. April 15, 1921 in Madill she married Leonard Lewis Wilson, a young man she had known in Texas. For a time following their marriage, Aletha and Leonard lived in West Texas. Later they decided to move to Dallas, Texas.
Aletha was very healthy until about 1950. From then on it was first one ailment after another, with operations between, and finally a heart condition and high blood pressure. She followed her doctor's orders, believing almost to the end that she would regain her health. She suffered a final stroke in 1972 and was buried in the Wilson plot in Trinity Valley Cemetery.
She was survived by her husband, a daughter, Lidalynn Wilson James (Mrs Robert James); son Leonard L Wilson, Jr all of Dallas; her sister Mrs Vera English, Philadelphia, PA and three Grandsons. Taken from the book "The Apperson Family in America."
