Mary Brandt, 92, of New Castle, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26,2014 at Glen Oaks Health Campus. She was born Jan. 13,1922 in Raysville, IN., to the late Thomas and Dora (Retherford)Gabbard.
A homemaker, she was a graduate of Carthage High School and also had attended school at Knightstown. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and cooking.
Survivors include her husband, Carlin Brandt of New Castle; two sons, Mike (Sandra) Brandt of New Castle and Col. Keith E. (Melinda Kaye) Brandt, MD, of OK; grandchildren, Christa (Paul) Acton of Columbus, IN, Joshua Brandt of Houston, TX, David Brandt of Dayton, OH, and Rachel Brandt of Dayton, OH; two great-grandchildren, Alex and Mia Brandt; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Sat., Aug. 30,2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. James Gazaway officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29,2014 at the funeral home.
