Fillmore, LA - Jimmy, native of Fillmore, LA was born on January 15, 1945 in Fillmore, LA and passed away on July 3, 2015 at Promise Hospital in Bossier City, LA. He attended school in Haughton, LA and was a member of Haughton Methodist Church.

Jimmy briefly worked for the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Department before joining the Louisiana Forestry Service where he fought forest fires across the United States for 32 years. After retiring from the Forestry Service, he worked for the LA Department of Agriculture until 2005.

Mr. Horton was preceded in death by his parents, Dove Alexander, Jr and Hallie Coleman Horton and sister, Elizabeth Ann Horton Turner. He is survived by his son, daughter, two sisters, two brothers,. Mr. Horton is also survived by his grandchildren and ggrandchildren.

Jimmy loved his family and his four-wheeler. He enjoyed hunting deer and squirrels, and was very proud of the rattlesnakes he killed.

Graveside services celebrating Jimmy's life will be held at 11:00 am Monday, July 6, 2015 at Fillmore Cemetery with Rev. Ken Norton officiating.
