ALEXANDER OVERTON
Alexander Overton, 90, died Tuesday morning at the Lewis County Home of the infirmities of age. Mr. Overton had been transferred to the home, after four days in the Lewis County General hospital.
His home for the past few years had been on Cascade ave., although he was originally from New Bremen.
Born April 13, 1857, he was the son of Alexander and Jane Tisse Overton. Twice married, his second wife the former Effie Willoughby died in 1933. They were married in 1897 in Lyons' Falls. It was Mrs. Overton's, second marriage also.
Mr. Overton was a cobbler and an Adirondack guide.
He is survived by two sisters: Mrs. Florence Snyder, of West Martinsburg and Mrs. Jennie Robinson of Colorado.
The body was taken to the Virkler Funeral Home and the funeral services will be held at 2, Thursday afternoon, June, 2 6, at the Methodist church in New Bremen. Rev. Victor G. Fellows will officiate.
Burial will take place in the church cemetery in the family plot.
