BURT CURTISS CAMPBELL.
_______

Burt Curtis Campbell, with his assistants, the Misses Bertha M. Stevens, Avis Johnson, Kittie Morrison, Flor Leroy, Affa Weatherby, Emma Pierce, Alice Hunter, Beatrice Terhune and Carrie Moots, is thoroughly alive to all that concerns the educational interests of the Park school, West Bay City, Mich., where he has been principal for two years. For beautiful surroundings and for splendid, modern architecture, the "Park" is one of the nicest schools in Northern Michigan, and, as the old saying is, "whatever the principal, the school will be." Mr. Campbell's school is a scholarly, active and orderly place where love and peace reign supreme.

Mr. Campbell's father, Rev. W. A. Campbell, came from Canada to Cass City, Mich., when his son was but three years of age, at which place he died a year later. Having been educated in Ann Arbor, Mich., and having in his possession books and apparatus appertaining to school work, he left his boy what has proved to be a valuable legacy.

Burt Curtis Campbell commenced his career as a teacher in a small county school at Munger's Station, Mich. He was then not 20 years of age. Remaining in this school four years he improved his time during vacation and at every other opportunity studying and otherwise preparing for the more important positions he has since held. His next position was a principal-ship of one of the Bay City schools under Supt. J. W. Smith, where he remained three years. He has since been principal of the "Park" school, under Supts. J. E. Lemon and H. H. Frost.

Few persons with Mr. Campbell's advantages have made such rapid progress as he. As an excellent disciplinarian he has a reputation extending to a great many places. Mr. Campbell is married, 29 years of age, and has been, for a great many years, a resident of the Saginaw Valley.
