Emaline V. Campbell was born in in Ontario, Canada, to parents William & Mary "Libby" O'Kelly Campbell. She emigrated to Tuscola County, Michigan, in 1868. On September 25, 1883, she was married to George R. Piercy. She died of Tuberculosis in 1894. Her youngest son, 6 year old Johnny, died a week later of TB. Tuberculosis eventually wiped out her entire family: daughter Lizzie Bell in 1911, daughter Mary Ann in 1916, and eventually husband, George in 1919.
