Robert Emery, age 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Emery, south Walnut street, died at 8 o'clock this morning at the Madison hospital for the insane, where he was committed last Friday, after he had made a suicide attempt by slashing his throat with a piece of glass while a patient in a sanitarium at Cincinnati.
The body was brought here today and was taken to the Allen funeral home.
He was in a serious condition when taken to the Madison hospital. He had been brought here from Cincinnati for treatment at the local hospital for the wound in his throat.
Funeral services will be held at the home, 1316 south Walnut street, at 2:30 p. m. Thursday, with burial at Clear Creek. Survivors are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Emery; two sisters - Mrs. E. R. Grimes of Bloomington and Mrs. R. B. Doty, Norfolk, Va., and one brother, Charles M. Emery, Austin, Tex.
