Shirley Jean King, 80, of Shelley passed away July 2, 2015 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls of complications due to stomach ulcers and related causes.

Shirley was born February 22, 1935 in Rupert, Idaho to Sherman Ulysses Anderson and Edna Sylvia Christensen. She was the fourth of seven children born to this union.

She grew up in Rupert and graduated from Rupert High School in 1953. She then went on to become a registered nurse graduating from the nursing program at the LDS Hospital in Idaho Falls in 1956.

On September 15, 1958 she married her High School Sweetheart Allen Reed King in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. To this marriage three children were born. Kyle Reed, Jan.25, 1960, Bryan Lee, Feb. 10, 1962 and Anita Marie, Oct. 29, 1963. The family lived in Rupert until 1972 at which time they moved to Shelley, and Shirley was employed by the Riverview Hospital and later by Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center until she retired in 1997.

She served in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple as an officiator and later as a missionary with her husband for two years in the Illinois Chicago North Mission doing family history work. She liked to crochet and made many afghans for her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Allen of 56 years. Her sons Kyle Reed (Myong) of San Anglo, Texas; Bryan Lee (Kelly) of Ammon; and her daughter Anita Marie (Darrell) Snyder of Shelley. 12 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren. Two sisters; Maxine Rasmussen of Burley and Pat Dixon of Kimberly and a brother Rodney J Anderson of Rupert.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters; Diana Anderson, Christine Anderson and Janice Simpson.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday July 7th 2015 at the Shelley Stake Center (325 East Locust Street) with Bishop Rod Shaw, conducting. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Tuesday morning 9:30 till 10:40 A.M. at the church. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery.
