Aubrey was the only child born to Dutch Elwin and Nanny Fort Edwards. Aubrey's mother's first husband, Mr. Allen, had died in 1921. Aubrey's father was working as a ranch hand for Mr. Allen, and stayed on to help run the ranch. Aubrey's parents married in 1923.

Aubrey had three older half-siblings, the children of Nanny and Mr. Allen. He also had 37 first cousins on his father's line; and my father, Dois Dallas was one.

Aubrey's parents divorced in 1930. His mother raised him on her ranch. His father remarried in 1933, and had two more children who lived to adulthood: John and Lela Faye Edwards.

Aubrey was an excellent student, and is remembered as one of the kindest friends a person could have. He graduated from Lovington H.S. in 1943.

Aubrey joined the U.S. Navy as a young man of 18. He married Pauline Eloise Trethaway of Globe, AZ in 1948. They lived in California, where their son and daughter were born.

Aubrey joined Ford Motor and was promoted and transferred to Denver, CO where he was the Division Manager. He was regularly donating blood to the Blood Bank, at a time precautions were not as common. He got hepatitis, and died in Denver in 1960.

Aubrey's son, Kenneth Edwards, died of early onset Alzheimer's disease with no children. His only other child, Cheryl Edwards Mennonna, died of breast cancer in 2020, with no children. Aubrey thus has no living offspring.
