Ben Fesenmaier, 515 First N., died at his home at about 7:40 PM yesterday. He would have been 74 years old March 1. Fesenmaier had been suffering with a heart condition for about eight years. He had an attack early this week and was sick until the time of his death. The number 12 held an important place in his life. He lived on the Homestead of his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Fesenmaier, in Cottonwood township for 12 years before moving to New Ulm.
Attended Trinity
He lived in this city for 12 years, attending Holy Trinity school and the Mankato Business college, before he was married to Clara Kretsch Oct. 29, 1902. After the marriage he went to Minneapolis and was the chief engineer at the First National bank for 12 years. In 1914 the Fesenmaiers moved to Minnesota, where he conducted a garage for one year. Then he moved back to New Ulm and operated another garage for 10 years. The garage was located on the lot where the New Ulm Theater is now. He retired from business in 1925.
His wife survives. Four children, all girls, were born to the Fesenmaiers. They are Mrs. Joseph (Mildred) Epple, Mrs. Roman (Helen) Teynor, Mrs. John R (Madelyn) Higgs, and Rosella, all of New Ulm. There are four grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Klingler of St. George.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 AM Monday, from Holy Trinity Catholic church. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery. Prayer hour will be at 7:30 PM Sunday at the Forster funeral home, Fesenmaier was a member of the St. John's Court.
