Gail Keith Hamilton, 78, of Kirksville, MO, passed away Sunday (June 28, 2015) at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.
The son of Carl and Cynthia (Teter) Hamilton, he was born August 22, 1936 in Plano, IA. On September 29, 1956 in Plano, IA, Gail was united in marriage to Florence Kay Atwell who preceded him in death on September 8, 1996.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bryon Hamilton on September 2, 2006 and one brother, Ted Hamilton.
Gail is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Jere Kraemer of Huntsville, MO; one sister and brother-in-law, Karla and Richard Kaestner of Knoxville, IA; four grandchildren, Angela (Don) Houston, Tonya (CJ) Miller, Jeremy (Monica) Hamilton and Jason (Brooke) Hawley; nine great-grandchildren and three nephews.
Gail graduated from Seymour High School in Seymour, IA, with the Class of 1955. He was employed thirty-seven years in the railroad office for Burlington Northern Railroad in Aurora, IL, until retiring in 1992. He then moved to Kirksville, MO, to make his home. He loved animals, especially donkeys.
He was a member of the Church of God Holiness in Kirksville.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday (July 1, 2015) at Highland Cemetery in Mystic, IA, with Pastor Ralph Wheeler officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, and no public visitation will be held.
