Joel G. Thompson, 82, formerly of Route 1, Valders, died Monday evening, Aug. 16, at Chilton Village Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. The Rev. Carl Peters will officiate and burial will be in Valders West Cemetery.
Mr. Thompson was born Feb. 5, 1900, in the Town of Eaton, son of the late Sever and Georgina Berge Thompson. He attended Niles School and farmed in the Town of Eaton his entire lifetime. He married Mary Shimek, Feb. 1, 1940, in Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; two sons and a daughter-in-law, John of Route 1, Valders, and Roger and Patricia of South Windsor, Conn.; two sisters, his twin sister Mrs. Myrtle DeBrall of Brookfield, Ill., and Mrs. Julia Moring of Evanston, Ill., and two grandsons, Stephen and David. He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, Valders, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and at the church Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
