An Old Settler Gone.

Bernhard Fesenmaier, one of the old pioneer residents of this locality, passed away Friday morning at St. Alexander Home for the aged, where he had been for the past four years. The deceased was born in Wuertemberg, Germany Aug 15, 1830 and came to America in 1842. His family first settled in Wisconsin where they remained until 1858 when they moved to Minnesota locating on a farm in Cottonwood township, this county. Here the deceased resided until about 20 years ago when he removed to this city where his wife, who he married in Wisconsin, died about seven years ago. Mr. Fesenmaier was a quiet, industrious citizen, well like and generally esteemed by everyone as an honest man and good neighbor. With the other early settlers he experienced hardship and deprivations of frontier life. He is survived by nine children: Joseph and Peter of Cottonwood; William, Robert, and Mrs. Vetter of this city; Frank of Morgan; Ben of Minneapolis; Mrs. Ed Reinhard of Courland and Mrs. Jos. Klingler of Lafayette.

The funeral was held Monday forenoon from the Catholic church and was attended by St. Joseph society in a body, of which the deceased was a member. He attained an age of 79 years.
