She was born March 5, 1933 in Egypt, Arkansas, to the late James Joseph and Olevia Pearl Drope Holcomb.
She married Alfred Brunson Thornton on September 30, 1950. She devoted her life to God’s work and her family.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; a son, Gary Thornton and all of her siblings.
She is survived by her children, Fred (Elaine) Thornton of Jonesboro, Regina (Ronnie) Hagood of Pocahontas, Susan Thornton of Greenbrier and Joe (Carol) Thornton of Paragould; seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Garrett, Karma, Katie, Matt, Cody and Levi.
Funeral services were at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home. Burial was at Pine Log Cemetery.
