Gerard was born in Wigan, Lancashire, England to John Henry Peck and Martha Finch, one of their five children and also as brother to a set of triplets who died at birth. He married Annie Holden Ackroyd 2nd of November 1898 at St. Luke’s in Southport, Lancashire. In 1911 he immigrated with a cousin and friend to Canada where they ended up homesteading in Oyen Alberta. He died in Calgary at his home at 15th street NW.
