Gertrude Caroline Lanphar was the daughter of Levi Lanphar and Gertrude Wood was born in New Yrk on August 13, 1818. She married her first husband, Leonard Beardsley on July 24, 1841. They had three children, one son whofought in the Civil War, and 2 daughters. Her second marriage was to Harlow T. Judson.They were married on September 25, 1853 andthey had a son and a daughter. She was widowed for a second time on September 20, 1865. Her third marriage was to Deacon Abraham Kromer. They were married on June 5, 1869 and she was again widowed on September 1880. They had no children. On April2, 1885 she entered into a short marriage to James Thomas. She is buried in Cannonsburg Cemetery under the name: Mrs. Abraham Kromer.
