Friday, February 10, 1905
Mrs. Allen Brooks, one of the oldest residents of this county, died Tuesday night at the family home on the Lampasas river, at what has been known for many years as the Brooks crossing. She was among the original settlers in this section, having come here with her husband more than forty years ago, and having lived consecutively at the home where she died for more than thirty years. Her husband died a few years ago, and their descendants are scattered all over this section. She was 86 years old at the time of her death.
