Betty V. Adams
age 92 passed away Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at her home, with the Peace of our Lord, Jesus, in her heart. She was born Oct. 11, 1921 in Canton, Ohio to the late DeForest and Sylvia Karpp. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, DeErla Kirkwood. Betty is survived by her three children and two daughters-in-law, 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; two brothers and a sister-in-law ; sister and her husband.
Betty was a very strong woman, raising her three children on her own, (never on welfare) working two jobs all her working life to support them. She never gave up, providing them with the love they needed, a roof over their heads, clothes on their backs and food always on the table, even eventually a brand new house. She deeply loved all her grandchildren, and always welcomed everyone with open arms. She religiously attended Greentown United Methodist Church, as did her mother before her, until her age caught up with her. Betty enjoyed cross stitching, reading, arts and crafts, and was a whiz at crossword puzzles. Because of her dedication to her work and providing for her family, she never really got the opportunity to serve her community or do the things that she would have liked to do in life, but she was always there for you if you needed an ear to bend or needed to lay your head on her lap. We, her children, will deeply miss her, for she was not only our wonderful mom, but the only dad we ever had. God bless Betty Viola Adams, and may the Lord continue to cradle her under His wing for all eternity.
In honoring her wishes, cremation will take place. The Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel is entrusted with the services. Those wishing to share a fond memory or their condolences may sign the Reed on-line guest book at our website www.reedfuneralhome.com
