Kenna B. Godbey served in WWI as a private in Co. B of the 163rd infantry. He was married to Icy Pearl (Silket) and had six children, Inez Blanche (Baker), Walter, Waldo, Irene (Fetterman), Ivy Bell (Blair), and Florence (Morris). He worked earlier in the coal mines of West Virginia, also for the railroad, and later, for many years at Firestone Tire in Akron, Ohio. Kenna was born in a small town (at the time) referred to as "Mount Tell", in Kanawaha county, WV. He passed away in his home at 499 State St. Barberton, OH 44203. Husband of Pearl (Silket), Father of Ivy (blair), Grandfather of Cheryl Blair, Great Grandfather to Keith and Samuel Spell II, and Great-Great Grandfather to Taylor and Dalton Spell.
