Survivors include his wife, Lorene E. Wagner, Chenoa; one daughter, Marilyn Wagner, New York, N.Y.; one son, Richard Wagner, Springfield; three sisters, Rose Schertz, Pearl Yoder and Celeste Stalter, all of Eureka; and one brother, E. Sanford Wagner, San Mateo, Calif.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Judson Wagner, Whitney Rosen and Peter Wagner, all of Springfield; and John Wagner, Great Falls, Va.; and three great-granddaughters, Olivia, Lilianna and Madeline.
Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
Mr. Wagner was born Nov. 14, 1909, in Eureka, to Christian and Barbara Sauder Wagner. He married Lorene Elizabeth Ulrich Nov. 28, 1929, in Eureka.
He was a heavy-equipment operator for Wagner Stone Co., Pontiac, from 1939 to 1967, when he retired.
He was a member of Meadows Mennonite Church and International Operating Engineers Union 150.
He was a World War II veteran, serving from May 1944 to August 1945 in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific on the USS Pennsylvania.
