Boyd L. Oiler, 68, of 498 Buchanan Valley Road, Orrtanna, died Tuesday, Oct 28, 1997, in Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.

Born July 5, 1929, in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Earl A. and Nancy P. Finkey Oiler.

For 25 years, he worked for Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, retiring in 1991. Mr. Oiler was a member of Adams County Fish and Game Association and Fairfield AMVETS.

Martha Jane Parr Oiler, his first wife, died in 1977. Alberta Smith Oiler, his second wife, died in 1991.

Surviving are a companion, Martha Stitely; three sons, James L. and Richard E., both of Fayetteville, and Donald B. of Orrtanna; two daughters, Sherry L. Jacoby of Biglerville and Mary A. Zinn of Gettysburg; a number of stepchildren; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three sisters, Mary Jane Lesher of Pinellas Park, Fla., and Pearl Hartmire and Evelyn Johnson, both of Dry Run; and a brother, William of Orrstown.

Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Monahan Funeral Home Inc., 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg. The Rev. E. Edward Keyser will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Buchanan Valley Fire Company, 1180 Buchanan Valley Road, Orrtanna 17353.
