Funeral services for Jack Edward Williams. Who passed Wednesday morning after along illness, will be held Friday, June 16 at 2 p.m. at Bergemann Funeral Chapel. The Reverend D.M. Iles will officiate and interment will follow in Forest View Cemetery.

He was born in Nevada City on July 4, 1907 and lived in this community all his life. He had been employed in the mining and lumbering industry and was an ardent outdoor enthusiast, hunting and fishing were his main hobbies.

He was the son of the late John K. Williams, in addition to his wife, Elizabeth he leaves his mother Hilda Williams; two daughters Mrs. Barbara Yeoman and Janet Williams, both of Nevada City; four sons, Robert Williams of El Cajon and Richard, David and John all of Nevada City; four grandchildren; three sisters Mrs. Esther Jurovick of Grass Valley; Mrs. Elma Allen of Oakland and Mrs. Ann Hubbard of Nevada City; one niece, Mrs. June Deitrick of Walnut Creek; three nephew, William Laird of Grass Valley; Leroy Chenoweth of Grass Valley and James Hubbard in the U.S. Army.
