Winifred Irene Haines Harrison, of Woodbine went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 20, 2015 at Brinton Woods Nursing Center.

Born June 11, 1928, in Gist, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Levi Haines and Evelyn Bair Hanes. She was the wife of the late Robert Lee Harrison, whom she married January 17, 1948 and who died October 26, 2000.

She was President of her 1945 Mount Airy High School graduating class. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Towson State University and had done postgraduate work. She had a teacher's heart and had taught at Winfield Elementary School, Eldersburg Elementary, Elementary School and Carroll Christian Schools before retiring to be home on the farm with her beloved husband.

She had been a long time member of Arlington Baptist Church where she had taught a Junior Church class for several years. Prior to her illness she attended Friendship Baptist Church in Sykesville. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed sharing pictures with everyone.

Surviving her are daughter Cheryl Harrison Day of Woodbine, daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Ed Fulton of Westminster; brothers Donald L. Haines of Woodbine, C. Nevin Haines and Robert K. Haines of Westminster, and former Senator Larry E. Haines of Pennsylvania; sisters-in-law Margaret Thompson and Marie Fogle of Woodbine; grandson and wife Greg and Alex Day of Woodbine, granddaughter and husband Joelle and Todd Wilson of Westminster, grandson and wife Josh and Michelle Barbe of Westminster, and granddaughters Jill Barbe of Woodbine and Stevi Fulton of Westminster; great grandchildren Elle and Harrison Wilson, Elijah and Messina Barbe; Jailyn and Raelyn Fulton; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She is predeceased by sister Virginia L. Bidinger, brother –in-law Paul Harrison and grandson Scott Fulton.

A Celebration of her life will be held Friday, June 26, 2015 11 AM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784. Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Winfield, MD. Family and friends are invited to her home for a luncheon following the graveside service. Friends and family may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Pm on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 1391 Sykesville Rd. Sykesville, MD 21784 or the American Heart Assoc. , 4217 Park Place Ct. Glen Allen, VA 23060
