July 15, 2006. This mausoleum was built in 1913 at a cost of $300,000 (not adjusted for inflation). John Dodge had the remains of his late first wife Ivy Hawkins re-interred here soon after it was rebuilt.

September 1954. Photo taken at her son's home during the lawsuit in regard to her stewardship of the $57 million dollar trust she was the administrator of. Her granddaughter Christine wanted an early inheritance and the trust broken up.

On warm summer days Anna liked to be wheeled out to the terrace to enjoy her view of lake St. Clair and her gardens. This photo was taken in 1966, four years prior to her death at the age of 98. The Detroit Free Press.

For over 40 years this portrait has been in storage at the Detroit Institute of Arts. Several years ago, the D-I-A sold many pieces from the Dodge collection and raised over $600,000. Christie's conducted the sale.

Anna with her second husband former actor and real estate agent Hugh Dillman. They were introduced to each other during the purchase of "Playa Riente" by Anna in 1925 and were married on May 8, 1926 at the home of Anna's son Horace Dodge Jr. Dillman was the one who gave Anna the idea to build the second Rose Terrace. He also selected its furnishings and put everything in its place, which the contents remained unmoved until 1971. They divorced on May 22, 1947.

This impressive portrait of Horace E. Dodge Sr. hung on a wall in the library. For over 40 years it has been in storage at the Detroit Institute of Arts. Several years ago, the D-I-A sold many pieces from the Dodge collection and raised over $600,000 from the sale. The sale was conducted by the auction house Christies.

The Jefferson Avenue entrance to Rose Terrace, 1950s. In 1954 the house was valued at $673,790, including $152,000 for the adjoining Versailles gardens and pool. The cost to build excluding the furnishings was in excess of $4,000,000. The yacht "Delphine" was docked at the shore and valued at $2,000,000. Property taxes were paid on the yacht as well.

Horace E. Dodge & Son Memorial. Located at Hart Plaza Detroit, MI. Answering a plea from Detroit News editor Martin Hayden and Mayor Jerome Cavanaugh, socialite and city benefactor Anna Thomson Dodge, widow of automobile baron Horace E. Dodge, bequeathed $2 million to the city to erect a fountain in the Philip Hart Civic Center Plaza at Jefferson and Woodward Ave as a memorial to her late husband and her son, Horace Dodge Jr. Sculptor Isamu Noguchi won the job to design the fountain which was completed in 1978. The thirty-foot high Dodge fountain forms the focus of Hart plaza. Composed of a stainless steel ring suspended daringly between two inwardly canted supports, it sprays water from the basin below which can interact in a vareity of ways with the downward sprays from the ring above. The Detroit River and the skyline of Windsor form backdrops for the fountain. Its powerful jets of water and dramatic setting combine to create a futuristic environment. Said Noguchi, "I wanted to make a new fountain, a fountain which represents our times and our relationship to outer space."

The Dodge Estate in Palm Beach, Florida "Playa Riente". Designed by architect Addison Mizner and commissioned by oil magnate Joshua Cosden. Playa Riente was valued at $4-million dollars at the time Anna Thomson Dodge purchased it. This is when Mrs. Dodge met real estate agent and former Actor Hugh M. Dillman. The two were married soon after. It was reported she paid around three to four million dollars for the house and Dillman was said to have received a $1-million dollar commission for the final sale. Mrs. Dodge sold Playa Riente in 1957 after unsuccessfully trying to turn it into a private club and it was razed soon after. Joseph P. Kennedy helped influence the Palm Beach City Council's decision. During the Jazz Age Addison Mizner was said to be the best known and most discussed living American architect. Original photo and caption posted since 2006 disappeared from f.a.g.

The funeral of Anna Dodge was held at her residence Rose Terrace. The public was allowed to attend and armed guards were on the property. Charles Verheyden was the Funeral Director.
