On June 16, 1929 he and Onnie Ozziter "Ozie" McDaniel were married in Paoli, Oklahoma. Leslie was a Roust About, Pipe Fitter & Rig Worker. During his career in the oil filds he worked for several oil field companies including Shebester, Ray's Wells Service (now, Key Well Service) Pure Oil Company, Phillips and Sinclair. He was a member of Paoli United Pentecostal Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ozie McDaniel Burton on May 15, 1999; two grandsons and a great-granddaughter.
Surviving family include his 3 sons, Kenneth Burton and his wife, Faye, of Oklahoma City; Robert Burton and his wife, Ruth, of Pauls Valley; and Doyle Burton and his wife JoAnn, of Nicoma Park; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandsons,
Funeral services: April 23, 2004 at Paoli United Pentecostal Church officiated by Rev. Terry Erwin.
Burial: Paoli Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
