A native of Bogalusa and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Ackal died at 1:49 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at Iberia Medical Center.
Mrs. Ackal will be remembered as loving, dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was a charter member of the New Iberia Lions Club Ladies Auxiliary. She made her Cursillo.
She is survived by two sons, two daughters, two daughters-in-law, four grandsons, three granddaughters,four great-grandsons, and two great-granddaughters.
Mrs. Ackal was preceded in death by her husband, Louis G. Ackal; her father, Michael N. Haik; her mother, Esma Haik Haik; her brothers, Theodore M. Haik Sr., George M. Haik Sr., and Morris M., Taft M. and Ned M. Haik; and her sisters, Waddad Haik Newman and Laurice Haik Young.
