Maria Elizabeth Elfner, the second daughter, born in Birkenau, Germany to Valentin and Margaretha Stief. Known as Anna, she immigrated to the U.S. after the death of her husband, Franz Helmuth Lutschewitz, in 1937. She lived with her daughter, Erna Lutschewitz Hoffmann, and her family in Wood-Ridge, NJ, where she died in 1958. Her son, Willi Lutschewitz, and his family lived in Weehawken, NJ, and both families visited each other often. Anna used to do ceramic bead work, which she taught to her granddaughters, Gert, Erna, Elizabeth & Susan. She also joined the choral group in the churches she belonged to in NYC and Wood-Ridge, NJ. A small-statured woman with a quiet sense of being.
