Willi Jacob Albert Lutschewitz was born in Berlin to Franz Helmut Lutschewitz and Maria Elizabeth "Anna" Elfner. His siblings were Carl Lutschewitz (1902-1977) Germany, and Erna Lutschewitz Hoffmann (1906-1964 in Woodridge, NJ).
He immigrated to the U.S. in March 1925 aboard the S.S. Ohio.
Bill joined the Army Air Corps in 1926 for almost 10 years and was stationed in the Phillipines and Hawaii. He mustered out when he met and married Elizabeth Agnes Stoklosa on June 14, 1937 at the rectory of St. Leo's RC Church in Irvington, NJ. Their reception was held at the home of his uncle and aunt, Peter and Carrie Elfner who lived in Irvington, NJ.
His various occupations were trainer of polo ponies in Connecticut; welder during WWII, bartender for the Waldorf Astoria, and teletype operator for the N.Y.Central Railroad.
Bill was a world traveler and among his many talents was his being an excellent ballroom dancer, the waltz and tango among his specialties, as well as a great tenor and loved to sing both at home in the shower, as well as German singing groups in NYC.
