Greenwood SC - Mrs. Mary Trotter Black, 67, wife of Herman L. Black, died Wednesday [May 5, 1982] at Self Memorial Hospital. Born in Saluda County, she as a daughter of the late Johnny Gillion and Eva Leopard Gillion Rowe. She was reared in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ike Trotter. Mrs. Black was a retired employee of Self Memorial Hospital, a Sunday School teacher and past president of Panola Community Club. Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Sam (Delores) Minnick of Ninety Six; two sons, William Ray Black of Woodruff and of Greenwood; a brother, Willie Gillion of Chappells; a sister, Mrs. Eunice Trotter of West Columbia; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Burial in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Harley Funeral Home. The State, Thursday, May 6, 1982.
