Survivors include his wife Frances Hilbert; two daughters Mary E. Demert, Sarasota, FL, Margaret Young, Reston, VA; three sons Edward J. Hilbert, Sarasota, FL, Michael J. Hilbert, Sarasota, FL, Robert J. Hilbert, Gilgo Beach, NY; one brother Joseph A. Hilbert, Babylon, NY; and five grandchildren, Allison Surdo, Jaisle Chester, Edward Hilbert, James Hilbert and Jake Demert.

Funeral arrangements handled by Weigand Brothers Funeral Home, Sarasota, FL. Interment at Sarasota Memorial Park.
