Ida Mae Slinkard, 81 year old, lifelong resident of Zalma, died Thursday at her home. She was born at Zalma October 19, 1881, daughter of Rev. Jacob Eaker and Martha 'Jane' (Day) Eaker.
In 1900 she was married to Leo Slinkard, and to this union 14 children were born. Mr. Slinkard died October 8, 1929.
Mrs. Slinkard was a member of the Methodist Church.
She was a member of Chapter 509 Order of Eastern Star of Zalma.
Surviving are nine daughters, Mrs. Avery Myers of Brownwood, Mo.; Mrs. A.H. Corbin of Zalma, Mo.; Mrs. Glen Thomas of Zalma, Mo.; Mrs. Polly S. Matthews of Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Cecil Gray of St. Louis; Mrs. W.S. Tucker of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; Mrs. James Crowley of Roseville, Mich.; Mrs. W.I. Stein of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; and Mrs. Stanley Fronabarger of Florissant, Mo.; two sons, H.D. Slinkard of Zalma, Mo; and K.J. Slinkard of St. Louis; one sister Mrs. Gertrude King of Benton, Ky.; 25 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance. Burial was in Berrong Cemetery with Eastern Star rites.
