Capt Thomas Nelson married Judith Nelson in 1804, youngest child of Gov. Thomas Nelson, of Yorktown, York Co., Virginia. She was his first cousin. The two were known as Uncle Tom and Aunt Judy. Capt Nelson moved from Yorktown to Oakland, Hanover Co. Va.
Capt Thomas Nelson's mother was Judith Carter Page, born about 1751, who married about 1775, to Col. Hugh Nelson, third son and child of Pres. William Nelson, of Yorktown, Va. The mother, Judith Carter(Page) Nelson was the daughter of Hon. John Page of North End (on the North River, Goucester (now Matthews) County, Va.) and Jane Byrd, of Westover (on the James River, Charles City County, Va.).
