MILBRIDGE Corinne E. Stanwood passed away while holding her granddaughter, Kirstens hand, at the age of 64 on Thursday, December 12, 2013, in Bangor.

Corinne "Queenie" Stanwood was born December 12, 1949, in Machias daughter of Ernest Nelson Smith, Jr and Julia Mae (Randall) Smith.

Queenie grew up and attended school in Addison and graduated from Narraguagus High School in 1967. She then attended beauty school in Skowhegan. However, being a hairdresser was not her passion in life. She discovered her true calling was caring for the elderly. She worked at both Marshalls Health Care Facility and Narraguagus Bay Nursing Home before continuing her career in private home healthcare.

She truly enjoyed her years caring for and befriending Mr. and Mrs. Redmond of Harrington. Queenie's other passion in life was cooking for her family and friends. She was well known for her ability to cook hearty meals as well as delicious sweet food. Queenie ran the kitchen for the American Legion Post #8 in Cherryfield for several years. She also enjoyed managing the Neighborhood Cafe for two years for her husband, Robert. Queenie was known for her caring and giving heart. Throughout her life, she was a mentor and friend to people of all ages. She particularly enjoyed her years coaching her daughter, Kimberlys grammer school and high school cheering squads. Queenie put others personal and emotional needs before her own. She had an open door policy in her home. All of her daughters friends were welcome to stay for as long as they needed. Many of these women still consider her as their second mother. Through her actions, she modeled and instilled in her daughters the importance of family and taking care of others.

She is survived by her daughters Carol Lisee and husband Jeremy of Milbridge, Kimberly Blakely of Milbridge, Amber Conary and husband Jon of Orland,; brother Paul and wife Cindy (Farren) Smith of Cherryfield; her aunt Ramona Golding of Harrington; grandchildren Ashton Blakely, Robert Lisee, and Kirsten Lisee of Milbridge, Kayden Conary and Robert R.J. Conary of Orland; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and family friends Ralph and Sandra Spaulding. Queenie is predeceased by her parents Ernest Smith, Jr and Julia Randall; husband Robert Stanwood; son Kevin Beal; daughter Rhonda Beal; Uncle Arnold Randall and wife Bernice; Aunts Marilyn Will, Violet Redimarker, and Arlene Bigelow; and several cousins.
