A funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 6, at 1 p.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Tony Vilano officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the organist.
Entombment followed in the St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum.
Deacon Patrick Klein officiated at vigil services held Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 7:30 p.m., in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home where the body lay in state prior to the funeral.
Grona was born July 27, 1953, in Fredericksburg, the son of Clinton Henry Grona and Erline Alvira Nebgen Grona.
A rancher in the Morris Ranch community, he was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Hill Country Bass Club.
Grona is survived by three daughters, one son and their spouses, including Teri and Tommy Hoyt of Austin; Phillip and Lindsey Grona, League City; Estella and Sal Pacheo and Stacey Grona, all of Fredericksburg.
He is also survived by two grandchildren, his mother, Erline, Mrs. Clinton H. Grona of Fredericksburg, and a sister and brother-in-law, Gwen and Greg Kaiser of Abilene.
His father preceded him in death.
Memorials may be made to the St. Mary's Parish Capital Campaign or to the charity of choice.
Pallbearers included Lawrence Nebgen Jr., Hilmar Weinheimer Jr., Cletis Grona, Boyd Harper, Terry Weed and Manuel Mendoza.
