David Lee Luttrell was born the youngest son of Theodore and Lula Luttrell on May 3, 1937 in Ludlow Township, Champaign County, Illinois. He had four brothers and four sisters.
He married Myra Mae Osterbur on August 14, 1961 in Champaign. They had a son, David Lee Jr., and daughters Karen Sue and Sylvia Mae, a step-son, Mike Hollowmon and a step-daughter, Debra Coy. David enjoyed his ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He proudly served his country in the Army from 1957 to 1959 in Germany.
He drove a truck for Osterbur Trucking. He was a lifetime member of AMVETS Post 93, commander of Post 3 and state commander in 1994. He enjoyed being a member of Sad Sacks of AMVETS, playing pool and cards.
He is buried in Maplewood Cemetery in Rantoul.
