Welby Leroy Walker, 89, died August 9, 1977 at home.

Born November 9, 1887, Lewisville, Idaho, to Welby Holmes and Diadam Casto Walker. Married Laura Clair Ball, December 14, 1910, Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died October 10, 1926. Married Samantha E. Wright, August 4, 1948, Elko, Nevada.

High priest, 34th LDS Ward. Served LDS mission to California.

Survivors: wife, Salt Lake City; daughter, Murlin Conover, Dillon, Mont.; son Dale, Rexburg, Idaho; stepdaughter, Mrs. Earl Jackson, Ogden; stepsons, stepdaughter-in-law, Don Wright, Jim Wright, Mrs. Tom Wright, all California; 2 sisters, Mrs. Luman (Veda) Green, Farmington; Mrs. Lyle Stender, California; stepbrother, Elmer Taylor, Rexburg, Idaho; 25 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson.

Funeral services Friday, 1 p.m., Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call Thursday, 6-8 p.m. and Friday one hour before services. Burial, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
