Mr. Gross was a graduate of Aurora University. He served as a flight instructor in the Air Force during World War II. He married Anna Batorson on February 7, 1948.
Survivors include his children, Susan (Gerry) Rosenberg of Greenville, FL, Maryann (Dennis) Nosek of Cicero, IL, Annette (Daniel) Cordes, Louis (Irene) Gross, John (Marge) Gross, Karen Gross, Thomas (Kim) Gross and Richard Gross all of Aurora; his son-in-law, Gary Smith; eight grandchildren, Sherry, Cheryl, Peter, David, Tim, Rhonda, Jacqueline and Amie; a great grandson; two step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Anna on October 2, 2002; his daughter, Patricia; his parents, Louis and Florence Gross Sr.; his brother, John; two sisters, Helen and Mary; a granddaughter; and a step great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 29, 2006 at 11 AM at The Daleiden Mortuary. The Very Rev. Aurel Pater will officiate with interment in St. Michael Cemetery.
