The New York 10th was commanded by Major George F Hopper, consisted on a battalion of four companies (A-D) and 98 men, two of which were killed, and four wounded. The unit served as provost, rounding up stragglers, After Pickett's Charge, the unit was given over 1200 Confederate prisoners to escort to the rear.
