DALLAS CENTER -- Evelyn M. Friesz, 89, of 601 15th St., Dallas Center, died Tuesday, July 20, 1999 of cancer at Hospice Kavanagh House. Services were held Friday, July 23, at Dallas Center United Methodist Church with burial at the Brethren Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Brandt Funeral Home in Dallas Center.

Friesz was born in Russell and lived in Des Moines prior to moving to Dallas Center. She worked at Dr. Robert Gustafson's office in Dallas Center and for Fitz electric in Dallas Center.

She married Francis Hughes Friesz Aug. 7, 1937 in Oskaloosa. She was a member of the Dallas Center United Methodist Church. She was also involved in the Cameo Belle's Quester Club in Dallas Center and Dallas Center Woman's Club.

Survivors include one son, Jim Friesz of West Des Moines; one sister, Eula Ragon of Dallas Center; two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents William F. and Maude Irma Adams Goltry; her husband, Francis; her half brother, Bert Goltra; and a half sister, Fern Helfenbein. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Dallas Center United Methodist Church.
