PAMPA - Gerald Vaughn, 79, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007, in Amarillo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor, and the Rev. Rick Parnell, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mr. Vaughn was born Feb. 10, 1928, in Eliasville and graduated from Breckenridge High School. Gerald had been a resident of Pampa since 1954. He married Dorothy Murrell on Aug. 5, 1949, in Dumas.
He worked for Cabot for 31 years, Celanese for two years and Panhandle Producing Co. for 13 years. Gerald was a member of Central Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving from 1946 to 1949.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Loydd Wendal Vaughn and Charles Wayne "Bo" Vaughn.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Vaughn; four daughters, Jeri Gerald and husband Chris, Clessie Cates and husband Rick, all of Canyon, Reba Howard and husband Ben of Pampa and Sharla Hare and husband Gus of San Antonio; a sister, Marjorie Vaught of Eliasville; nine grandchildren, Heather Tankersley and husband Brian, and Ryan Cates, all of Canyon, Clessie Moreno and husband Johnny of Dumas, Lyndsey Keeney and husband Jayland of Houston, Tyler Howard and wife Beth of Oklahoma City, Colin Howard of Pampa and Prebble, Paige and Presley Hare, all of San Antonio; three great-grandchildren, Paitlyn and Jaxson Tankersley of Canyon and Greysen Moreno of Dumas; and a great-grandson due in February, his name will be Gunner Gerald Moreno.
