ESTHERVILLE – Funeral services for Roman L. Eisenbacher, Jr., 66, of Estherville, formerly of the Armstrong area will be held at 11 a.m. on Sat., August 9, 1997 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Armstrong with Father Tom Nash officiating. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Armstrong with full military graveside rites by the Welby Johnson VFW Post #532 of Armstrong. He did on Tuesday, August 5 at Veterans Administration Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Visitation will be held from 9 – 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 9 at the Henry-Olson –Fuhrman Funeral Home in Armstrong.

He was born on December 18, 1930 in Whittemore, the son of Roman K. and Viola (Hilbert) Eisenbacher. He received his education in the Armstrong High School. He enlisted in the United States Army and served from February 7, 1951 until his discharge on January 23, 1953. He also served in the United States Navy from November 22, 1957 until July 28, 1958.

After his discharge, he was employed by Ken’s Auto in Algona. He was employed at Fingerhut Corporation us an inventory control manager, of Bird Island and Sauk Center, Minn. until his retirement. In 1978, he moved back and lived in the Ringsted, Armstrong and Swea City area. In 1994, he moved to Estherville.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Armstrong.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Thompson of Estherville; daughters, Mrs. Charles (Donna) Snow of Estherville, Pamela Eisenbacher of Arlington, Texas, Mrs. Boyd (Dawn) Hoyt of Grand Bay, Ala., Vicki Eisenbacher of Estherville; son, Roman Eisenbacher III of Armstrong; eight grandchildren: brothers, William Eisenbacher of Algona; Joseph Eisenbacher of Armstrong; Robert Eisenbacher of Armstrong; Sylvester Eisenbacher of Armstrong; Richard Eisenbacher of Spencer; sisters, Mrs. Larry (Evelyn) Wampler of Elgin, Minn., Marjorie Moffitt of Armstrong, Janice Peterson of Armstrong; and Mrs. Robert (Janice) [Madonna] Frazier of Wilbert, MInn.
