Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Charles Carter of the Basher community who died at 11:45 Tuesday morning. She was 64. Services were held at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Scrivner of Springfield officiating. Burial was in the Huffman cemetery. Eva Bean was born July 4, 1881 near Seymour. She married Charles Carter July 4, 1909 at Bryant. To them three children were born Willie Carter of Springfield, Bessie Carter of the home, and a younger son who died at birth. She is survived by her husband, two children, one brother, Jess Bean and three grandchildren. She was a member of the Baptist Church, which she joined in 1926.
