Found in The State 15 June 1970: ORANGEBURG-Mrs. Lizzie Sports Metts, 89, widow of James P. Metts, died in a Columbia hospital Sunday following an extended illness. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Providence Baptist Church near Orangeburg with burial in Elmwood Cemetery in Columbia. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Janie Wooten Cooper of 514 Duke Ave. in Columbia; two sons, Alba L. Metts of Orangeburg and Paul B. Metts of Columbia; and a sister, Mrs. Mollie Bethea of Columbia.
