Son of Henry Grew and Elizabeth Sturgis.

A main problem with this page currently is the misidentification of Henry Sturgis Grew's wife. You have his mother's life dates where his spouse should be. Turns out his wife and mother have the exact same name. I spent a good deal of time trying to puzzle out how that could be, and I believe I've been successful. Before giving the details, I'll explain that my interest in this is very peripheral. I just wanted a correct identification of his wife, who is mentioned in a manuscript letter by another relative for which I am writing notes. So, here's what I think is the case.

I've had enough trouble with this to start with a simple genealogical summary.

Henry Grew (1808-1892)
Marries Elizabeth Perkins (1808-1848) in 1833 & they have four surviving children. One of these is Henry Sturgis Grew.
Marries Jane Norton Wigglesworth (1805-1868).

Henry Sturgis Grew.(1834-1910)
Marries Jane Norton Wigglesworth (1836-1920)
She is the daughter of Edward Wigglesworth, brother of Henry Sturgis Grew's step-mother.

Henry Sturgis Grew's wife was Jane Norton Wigglesworth (1836-1920).
A main source is here: https://ancestors.familysearch.org/en/L77Z-VVR/jane-norton-wigglesworth-1836-1920

Also helpful is his obituary here, where four of his children also are listed:

Mrs. Grew was the daughter of Edward Wigglesworth, the brother of Grew's step-mother. So, not his first cousin by blood, only by marriage.

This page confirms information about Grew's father.

HSG's mother's grave is here, I believe:

Currently, this site has misinformation that I supplied some time back, which should be obvious from the dates, but I didn't see it then. I plan to submit a correction.

I really hope I have this right and that the explanation is clear enough. It's been quite a struggle to get here, and all just to identify one of these people in a footnote!
