Born Dec. 6, 1928, in Mitchell County, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Ora McNeil Ledford. A member of Open Door Baptist Church, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Warren Jenkins Sr.; a twin sister, Rosalee Sheehan; a brother, Bradley Ledford; a sister, Wanda Biggerstaff; a son, Donald Jenkins Sr.; a great-granddaughter, Christina Ann Gibson; and a stepson, James Hedrick Sr.
Survivors include her husband, James Hedrick of the home; two daughters, Mary Lackey and Laura Jenkins of Hickory; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Warren and Linda Jenkins Jr. and Johnny Allen Jenkins, all of Hickory; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Eugene Ledford of Hickory and George and Merlyne Ledford of Conover; 25 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and three stepdaughters, Glenda Long and fiance, Bud Flowers, and Amy Hedrick and fiance, Darin Hicks, of Conover and Nancy Hicks and husband, Mike, of Bethlehem.
The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Darryl Williams at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Open Door Baptist Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
